The beach
One hundred steps to sand and sea
From both cottages you will be standing with your toes in the sand within two minutes. The wide beach of Egmond aan Zee is clean, child-friendly and an experience all year round.
In summer you will find lively beach pavilions and wonderful swimming and sunbathing; outside the season the beach is the setting for endless head-clearing walks. The beach cart for all your gear is already waiting at the cottage.
The village
The perfect family seaside resort
Egmond aan Zee is a firm number one among families. The village heart — within walking distance of the cottages — is cosy and compact, with restaurants, terraces, little shops and the boulevard along the sea.
Climb the J.C.J. van Speijk lighthouse for a beautiful view over the coast and the village, or settle down on a terrace for fresh fish and a good glass. And for the sporty: the tennis park is literally next to the cottages.
Nature
Walking and cycling through the dunes
Right behind Egmond begins the North Holland Dune Reserve: over 5,000 hectares of protected dune landscape with endless walking, cycling and riding trails. The entrance card (dune pass) is on us — it is included in your stay.
Roam through marram grass and dune valleys, spot deer and foxes, or cycle along the coast to Bergen aan Zee. Every route ends wherever you like: by the sea, in the woods or on a terrace.

Day trips nearby
The artists' village of Bergen, the cheese market of Alkmaar, the thousand-year-old Egmond Abbey and the castle quarter in Egmond aan den Hoef: all within about fifteen minutes by car or bike.
Amsterdam, the Zaanse Schans windmills and the flower fields also make easy day trips — you are on your way in no time by car or train.

Frank and Marjon are the couple behind Puur Egmond. Together they rent out and look after the two holiday cottages, Helmgras and Duinzand, with a genuine love of hospitality and an eye for detail. They know Egmond aan Zee and its surroundings inside out and are happy to help you with tips for the beach, the finest dune walks and the best local spots.
